Very little is known about Roxane Elfasci other than she made waves in the classical guitar community after posting a video performance of Claire de Lune on classical guitar. In 2018, she was the 5th place winner for Classical Guitar in Lee Ritenour’s Six String Theory Competition.
Everyone wanted to know who she was, where she studied, and who taught her, including this author. This amazing classical guitarist, however, is choosing to remain in the shadows for now.
After some research, I have been able to make a few assumptions. Roxane received a Musical Certificate in Classical Guitar through the Conservatory of Music and Dance in Aulan-sous-Bois, France. I believe her primary teacher was Antoine Fougeray. However, after studying her videos, it is very conceivable that she received lessons from Judicael Perroy at some point. Mr. Perroy attended the National School Academy of Aulnay-sous-Bois which is a northeastern suburb of Paris and until recently, lived in Paris. Also, on Antoine Fougery’s Facebook page, he has pictures of himself and Judicael Perroy on holiday, leading me to believe they may be friends.
