Tricep Drops Guitar Player Back and Shoulders Stretch Exercise

The Tricep Drops Guitar Player Back and Shoulder Stretch is a excellent exercise to warm up, loosen, stretch and prepare the muscles in the in the upper arm and side of the body.  Perform this exercise before practice to help reduce strain and pain in the back and shoulders.  Move slowly and with purpose to ensure a good stretch and reduce the risk of injury.  You can download a free, printable .pdf for this exercise here: Tricep-Drops-Guitar-Player-Stretch-Exercise.pdf or right click and save the image below.

Tricep Drop Guitar Player Stretch for Upper Arms and Side

1.
From a sitting position, drop your right arm behind your head.  Grab your left hand and gently press down, lean your body to the left until you feel a stretch from your elbow, down your side, to your waist.

2.
Drop your left arm behind your head.  Grab your left elbow with your right hand and gently press down.  Lean your body to the right until you feel a stretch from your elbow, down your side, to your waist.

Repeat this exercise three more times for a total of four drops per side.
